Learn about the history, uses, potential benefits and supportive research for this gentle touch therapy that originated in Japan in 1922. Reiki can also be offered without touch, if preferred. Reiki is offered in healthcare and animal care for stress and pain relief, support during treatment for cancer, before/after surgery, and as a complement to conventional human and veterinary medicine. Appropriate for all ages and health conditions. There are 3 – 4 levels of training, depending on the Reiki System, with basic training (1st Degree) focusing on self-reiki, for ‘self-care and self-healing.’ Those that wish, will be able to experience a brief reiki session.
