With the guidance of local artist, Karrie Whisler, students work together to create a collaborative sculpture project.

In this workshop, students will collaborate with local artist Karrie Whisler to create a sculpture installation inspired by the work of Louise Nevelson, an American sculptor known for her monochromatic wooden wall pieces. This course will provide a brief overview of Nevelson’s work and provide students with the opportunity to scavenge materials to be incorporated into their project. With guidance, students will each create their own portion of the sculpture, with the final product being installed and displayed at CultureHouse. Participants are encouraged to bring 5-8 small objects from home to donate and use in their project. Object size should be able to fit into a closed fist.

Artist Bio: Karrie Whisler is a fine artist living and painting on the north shore of Massachusetts. She is a certified K-12 educator and received her BFA in painting, drawing, and 3D design. Karrie currently works as a creative director and you can find her art studio in Lynn, Massachusetts.

For the safety of our visitors and staff, we will be requiring masks at this event!
